BITTERSWEET LOVE

Love, oh love, the sweetest curse,
It breaks us down and leaves us worse,
We cling to it with all our might,
But in the end, it’s goodbye for the night.
Passion and fire burn so bright,
But flames will flicker and lose their light,
Our hearts are shattered like broken glass,
And what once was love has come to pass.
The pain of letting go can’t compare,
To the pain of holding on to love that’s no longer there,
We try to hold on with all our might,
But love will tear us apart, despite our fight.
In the end, we’re left with scars,
Our hearts are wounded, but we’re left with stars,
For love will always be worth the pain,
Even if it means we’ll never love again.
Love, oh love, the bittersweet gift,
It gives us life but also leaves us adrift,
We’ll search for it until our dying day,

For love will always find a way.
