Oh, anxiety! My uninvited guest,
You make my heart race and my palms sweat,
You weigh down on my every breath,
And haunt me with worries and regrets.
I try to push you away,
To bury you deep inside,
But you always find a way,
To resurface and make me hide.
You make me doubt my every move,
And question every choice I make,
You hold me back, you make me lose,
And keep me stuck in a never-ending quake.
But I won’t let you win,
I’ll fight you until the end,
I’ll learn to breathe, I’ll learn to spin,
And I’ll overcome and transcend.
For I know you’re just a part of me,
A reminder to slow down and be still,
And I’ll learn to accept and let you be,
And find the peace that’s within my will.
So here’s to facing our fears,
And embracing all that we are,
And to wipe away our tears,
And shine like a bright star.
